Day Eight, Level One.

Oh my gosh, feeling badass right now. Haha, I just kicked the ass of this workout, the punches with my 1.5kg weights are SO much easier and I can see my muscles, especially my fore arms working with every punch, I was just mesmerized by them for a bit, like ‘are those really mine!?’ I’ve never had muscle before, never. I’ve always been the skinny little girl that every just cooed over and said they were scared they’d break me and always asking me if they could see my non-existant muscles just so they could go ‘awwww’.

But now I feel badass. I am still skinny and small, but I do not look breakable. I am tough, I am strong and man, I feel like a woman. (lol)

I was totally not feeling up to a workout 20 minutes ago, I had a headache, I didn’t have the energy, blah blah blahdy blah. But I got up, told myself that this was not a choice, that I was doing this, that I had to do this and guess what? My headache is gone, I feel energised and I’m feeling good.

You never regret the workouts you do, only the ones you don’t.

Trust me guys, when you feel like you can’t be assed, tell yourself that it’s non-negotiable, like sleeping or eating or even breathing, it must be done, make yourself work out (unless you’re ill or injured, please rest if you are) and I guarantee you’ll come out and you will not be thinking ‘ohh, I wish I hadn’t done that’.

Now go kick some ass!

There are numerous ways to measure progress that are far superior to the scale. Some of these include progress photos, measurements and how your clothes fit!

I know a lot of girls care about the number on the scale.. but the thing to keep in mind is, the scale is the weight of not just your fat & muscle.. but your organs, bones and various tissues as well! It doesn’t tell you your body fat percentage or body mass index. It changes extremely easily depending on the foods you eat, your sodium intake and how much water you’ve consumed.
Also remember, YOU are the ONLY ONE who sees that number! Besides your doctor.. who else is going to care what it says? So long as you are in a healthy range for your age/heigh/gender… forget about that number and focus on making healthy lifestyle changes instead!

I dug up one of the first progress photos I decided to take.. here it is! I wish I had more “original” shots… I’ll see if I can find anything else. But I encourage you to take progress photos of your own! They will go a long way to motivate you when you see HOW FAR YOU’VE COME rather than stressing about how far you have to go!!!
